Gig Harbor and Beyond
Our favorite way to have fun? Take a drive! Check out the beach at the Fox Island Bridge or explore Kopachuck State Park.
Tacoma
Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium - Still one of Bayley's favorite places to go, there are animals galore! You can usually find some tiger and snow leopard cubs, wolves, penguins, sharks, polar bears, elephants, and more!
Point Defiance - Don't forget to explore the rest of Point Defiance! Near the zoo there is the scenic 5-mile drive through the woods and the beach, as well as Fort Nisqually, the Chinese Park, abandoned train cars, and the rose gardens.
The Museum of Glass - A favorite of the DePaul family. Check out the Hot Shop where you can see glassblowers creating art right before your eyes. There is also an art gallery featuring glass and other mediums. Also venture across the Bridge of Glass.
LeMay - America's Car Museum - Everything a car lover could wish for. Muscle cars, NASCAR, new, and old. Come to learn or simply marvel at the huge and impressive collection.
Washington State History Museum - It doesn't matter how much you know about Washington, you can always learn more!
Seattle
Space Needle - Yes, it's on the list. Iconic and a great view from the top!
Pike Place Market - Though arguably the most touristy spot on the list, local Seattleites frequent Pike Place because it's still so awesome. Don't miss out on the fish throwers, food and craft vendors, beautiful flowers, the very first Starbucks, or the French bakery. We also highly recommend Piroshky Piroshky.
Museum of Flight - Boeing has plenty of history to share and lots of planes to see.
Experience Music Project - Fun for all ages, there is plenty of music history and lots of interactive activities.
Pacific Science Center - Another kid-friendly location, this science and learning center is seriously cool. Plus, a LEGO exhibit will be there through September 11th. If that doesn't make you want to go there, I don't know what will.
